The story

Behind the bag.

OCFCU is one of the largest organic-certified cooperative unions in the world. The scale matters: aggregating tens of thousands of smallholders is what gives them market power against the commodity buyers.

Light roast is jasmine-forward with stone fruit; medium goes brown sugar, citrus, peach; darker roasts move into dark caramel and black tea.

Challenges & opportunities

Cooperative scale also means complexity — quality consistency across that many members requires constant investment in QC.

Why we work with them

Buying from OCFCU funnels premium directly back into smallholder communities at scale. Aligned with our sourcing principles.
